Jelte Steven Tuinstra (born January 24, 1991), known by his stage name Jett Rebel, is a Dutch singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and recording artist. Jett Rebel is a solo artist who performs live in different band formations; Some see him as one of the most colourful people in the Dutch music scene.

Background

Tuinstra was born on January 24, 1991, in The Hague. His musical roots can be found in Hengelo. His parents played in socialist music groups and choirs (Verenigde Oost Nederlandse Kompanjie also known as VONK) with which they demonstrated. At a fairly young age (1993) Tuinstra moved from The Hague to Baarn. Every Sunday the Tuinstra family went to Hengelo, to the Kasbah, to rehearse.
